And you can always make your own 48x48 transparent PNG files with white pixels where you want something drawn I don't think you need to worry about the circle; I'm pretty sure the phone adds that for you automatically for anything you put in the AppBar.

A nice way to easily add the default WP7 icons is by using Expression Blend. I don't really use blend much, but if there's one thing it does well, it's selecting the icons for the application bar. It's one of the few things I switch over to blend to do. By default, it's already got all of the standard WP7 app bar icon library loaded. What I do, is I have an Illustrator template that's 48x48px, with guides for the inner 26x26 area. I have a picture here , you can see the blue square in the middle is the area where you should draw the icon.

There is a "preview" layer which contains a black fill, and a mock up of the circle that will appear around the icon so you can see how it looks. If you want the illustrator template, it's here. Basically just draw your icon in white, within the blue 26x26 guide.
